Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep Review (Blogmas 2015)

Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep Night Recovery Gel Balmwas released this year and it became popular quite quickly. I was lucky enough to win the cream in a giveaway that Vichy organized on Facebook, and that way I got a chance to test this cream and to see myself, if it's praised for a reason.

Skin Sleep cream comes in a pink plastic jar with lid that has a mirror on the lid and it does look pretty, although I’m not a fan of pink colour. Some people might find this packaging unhygienic, and I agree that creams in tubes or with a pump are better considering the question of hygiene, but I always wash my hands before I apply a night or a day cream, so it actually doesn’t bother me that much (like it would bother me by other types of products, for example lip balms). The packaging contains 50 ml of product.

The cream itself has a gel-alike texturethat’s very light and it sinks into the skin fast. It gives such a refreshing feeling to the skin and a dewy glow. It’s not the most nourishing cream I’ve tried, but I didn’t notice that it wouldn’t moisturize my dry skin enough, because in the morning my skin doesn’t feel tight (that is usually a sign that my skin needs better moisture during the night) and it's nicely soft. But it’s true that I rarely use this cream alone. Usually I use tonic and serum before I apply this cream, and sometimes I even add a drop of oil. What surprised me by this cream when I first tried it was the sticky feeling right after application, but it disappers after few seconds and now I already got  use to it.

One negative characteristic I did notice is that it can irritate the skin – when I had a cold and my nose was all red and skin there very sensitive, I couldn’t use this cream because it felt like my nose is burning when I applied the cream. Of course this feeling lasted only for few seconds, but still, it wasn’t pleasant. I guess that’s probably happening because it contains alcohol, so I’m not sure if this cream would be really appropriate for sensitive skin (the cream was actually made for all skin types). A lot of girls did report that their skin looks fresh and like they had a good night sleep even if they didn’t the morning after they used this cream, but I didn’t notice that. Maybe I do get enough sleep? Sometimes, but definitely not every day.

For the conclusion I can say that this is a nice night cream. I like its texture and the feeling on my skin, although I do try to avoid it when I have a cold, because it can irritate my skin around the nose then. I think that people with normal, mixed and dry skin will like it, but I'm not really sure how it'll work for you if you have very sensitive skin. Considering the oily skin, reviews on internet are very mixed - some like it, while some say that it caused them breakout and it made skin very oily. The price of this cream is 28,50 €. I probably won’t repurchase it after I’ll finish it, because I still have two night creams that should have similar effect as Vichy Skin Sleep to test, but if this one will end up being the best out of three, I might reconsider the purchase.

Have you tried Vichy Skin Sleep night cream? What do you think about it? Thank you for reading!
