Essence Nauti Girl TE

I know I'm late to a party with Essence Nauti Girl collection, but it's been ages since I really loved any Essence collection as much as I do this one. If you follow Essence TE collections for few years now you noticed that Essence repeats itself quite often, and shades and products are rarely unique, but nautical theme is one of my favourites. I liked most of the products from the collection, and my purchase was definitely not small. Since this collection is not available everywhere anymore (if not even sold out already) this won’t be a proper review, but my short opinion about each product – I’ll let you know what I liked and what I didn’t like from this collection.

Eau de toilette Like a Nauti Girl was not something I wanted since beginning, but I smelled tester in the store and I liked it, but I didn’t decided for the purchase until my boyfriend didn’t say he likes it and I should take it. I’m really bad at describing scents, but eau de toilette smell very sweet and the scent is quite strong. I have no idea how long it lasts on my skin, because I stop smelling it like after five minutes on me. For me it’s definitely a perfect summery eau de toilette and I’ll use it a lot this summer. The cute little bottle contains 10 ml and it costs 3,59 €.

The most exciting products from this collection were nail polishes. You know I adore blue nail polishes. I also took the nude one, but I left the red one in the store, because it didn’t seem enough unique to me. The polishes come in a square bottle, which I really like, and they have a flat brush, which enables an easy application. Also, the formula of these polishes is amazing, even the nude one is nicely pigmented. I also took nail stickers Hey, Sailor! to use them for a summery nail art. Nail stickers are actually quite nice, easy to apply, but not so easy to remove, because it took me a while to remove them from my nails. They were stubborn like glittery polishes usually are. Nail polishes contain 11 ml and cost 2,19 € and nail stickers cost 1,39 €.

01 Ahoy, Boy is a dark blue cream nail polish. The formula of this one is amazingly pigmented, because it’s opaque already after one coat, but as usual I used two for this swatch. Its amazing formula makes it perfect for stamping (as you can see below).

02 Oh, Captain, My Captain is a blue cream shade, for which I used two coats to get a full opacity. This one is actually my favourite from the collection. It’s one of those blue shades I can never say no to it.

04 Crew First is a nude cream shade with really great formula, which is easy to apply and it’s opaque in two coats. Lately I really love nude nail polishes and I had to add this one to my collection.

I also made two summery/sailor manicures with these polishes. For first one I used all three nail polishes and Born Pretty stamping plate and for second all three polishes and nail stickers.

While nail polishes and eau de toilette are a total hit of Nauti Girl collection, on the other hand the palette Cool Breeze is a total miss. Essence made a palette of 5 eyeshadows in navy colours to match the name of the collection, but the biggest mistake that brands can make by blue eyeshadows is that they make them too blendable and unfortunately Essence did that. Pigmentation is average and once you blend eyeshadows together, they look too similar. Also, eyeshadows have quite different quality. Some, like the darkest blue, are chalky, while some, like brown one, are silky and smooth. By application on lids they fall out and you have to upgrade them to get bigger intensity, since the pigmentation isn’t the best. They faded away a lot in few hours, but what surprised me is that despite that they didn’t crease. I actually took this palette because I wanted to create a nautical look with it, but since the pigmentation isn’t as nice as I wanted I didn’t really succeed. I only have swatches for you, because I thought I photographed the look, but I didn’t. The palette contains 6,4 g and it costs 4,29 €. I’m not really impressed by this palette, but I hope to get some benefit from fourth, the blue eyeshadow, since it’s really nice and perfect for summer.

FOTD: Butterfly

When I decided that this summer I'll devote more time to creative makeup look, my first thought was to do a butterfly makeup. I saw many gorgeous butterfly designs on the internet and although mine didn't came out perfectly, I was still pretty satisfied with it. I was using only eyeshadows and eyeliner on my face, but I'm seriously considering to get face paintings to try even crazier looks and maybe do some tutorials for Haloween in few months. Eyeshadows were easy to apply and blend, but I had few problems with Alverde eyeliner, because it became a bit thicker and it didn't apply as nicely as at the beginning, so the line around butterfly came a bit thicker as I planned. If you have any other "crazy" idea you'd like me to do (maybe with tutorial), just let me know. ;)

Products I used:
- Bourjois Healthy Mi foundation
- Catrice Colour Correcting powder Delicate Blossom
- Catrice Velvet Finish Velvet Ivory concealer
- Sleek Face Form Fair kit (bronzer, blush Rose Gold)
- NYX jumbo pencil Milk
- Sleek Curacao palette
- Sleek Ultra Matts V2 palette
- Alverde eyeliner Extreme Black
- Oriflame Eyes Wide Open mascara
- MeMeMe lipstick Cherub Blush

What do you think about my butterfly? Thank you for reading!

NOTD: Essie Perennial Chic&Flowerista

Essie spring collection for 2015 is still available in our stores, so I decided to show you swatches of two more polishes from this collection. I talked about gorgeous teal polish Garden Variety three months ago when this collection came out. I had few more polishes on my WL and when I got DM coupon for 50% discount on Essie polishes, I had to get two shades more (the third one I could get on coupon was Fiji, probably the only pink polish I really adore).

Perennial Chicis a nude polish with brown undertone. It’s no secret that I adore Essie’s big flat brush, because it enables an easy application and the story with this shade was no different. Its formula is very nice, not too runny or sheer as by some other nude polishes, but enough pigmented that I could reach a full opacity in two coats. The polish also dries quite fast and for me it’s a perfect shade to be used as a base for stamping or nail art. Lately I really adore nude polishes, and if I consider that I’m a girl who adores colours (on nails and in makeup) I got quite a lot new nude polishes lately and I’m actually planning to write a post about my 5 favourite nude polishes for this summer.

Flowerista is a purple cream shade. The same as Perennial Chic this one also has a nice formula that goes on nails smoothly and even and it’s opaque in two coats. In the past purple was my favourite nail polish colour, but lately I wasn’t really buying it, but when I saw this shade I knew I have to add it to my collection, because it’s really gorgeous, although maybe not the most unique.

Sandra mentioned some time ago, that Bourjois Beach Violet polish reminds her on Essie Bahama Mama, but to me Bahama Mama seemed a bit closer to Flowerista. When I compared all three polishes side by side I noticed that I was wrong. Bahama Mama has redder undertone in it as Flowerista, but I have to say I adore both polishes. On the other hand Beach Violet and Bahama Mama also aren’t dupes, because Bahama Mama is brighter than Bourjois, but you probably don’t need both.

Nail polishes look a bit darker, because photo is taken in natural light, while swatches are made in lightbox.
I also made a nail art, using Perennial Chic and Flowerista and Born Pretty Store water decals.

How do you like these two Essie shades? Thank you for reading!

Review and Swatches: Essence Fun Fair TE (Blush&Nail Powder)

Trying a new product before it hits the store is a blessing and curse at the same time. Blessing, because you can try it before anyone else and curse, because if you like it you can’t talk about it until it comes in stores. For the last month I was testing two products from Essence Fun Fair collection that just came in our stores and I’m so happy I can finally write this review. I received a blush Ring Around the Rosy and cotton candy nailsSugar for My Honey from Slovenian Essence team. I have to admit that at the beginning when I received both products I didn’t expect to like any of them. These powder things for nails were never my favourite and Essence blush reminded me too much on one other blush I have and don’t really like, but boy I was wrong. Blush even ended up on the list of my favourite summer blushes.

Blush Ring Around the Rosy comes in a round plastic transparent packaging that’s quite typical for Essence, and it’s not really fancy, but sturdy enough to carry it around in a makeup bag. For the price 3,29 € you get 4 g of a product. The blush is a metallic pink and in the packaging it actually looks like it contains a whole bunch of shimmer and I was really afraid how it’ll look on the cheeks, but it transfers nicely and there’s no shimmer, only a nice metallic sheen that looks beautiful on cheeks. When I received this blush it reminded me on Maybelline 201 and I was really afraid that it’ll look the same, but it doesn’t. While by Maybelline mostly transfers on cheeks the shimmer that looks overwhelming, Essence blush has more of a metallic look. It gives pretty pink colour to the cheeks and a nice highlighting glow. With this blush I never use a highlighter, because it gives enough shine to the cheeks. The texture of the blush is very silky and soft and it applies and blends easily. Its colour payoff is really nice and I really like how it looks on me, although I think that this blush won’t be to everyone’s taste, because it looks a lot like Barbi pink on cheeks. The duration time depends from the amount of the blush I apply - if I don’t apply it really intense it’ll fade away in few hours, but if I apply it really intensive it can last even a whole day (I personally like intensive blush look).

Cotton candy nails product was actually a surprise for me, because I didn’t expect to like it. Of course I can’t say it’s an amazing product, because it has its flaws, but the look I achieved with it on my nails was beautiful. I thought that this a pure cotton powder, but it’s actually a mixture of cotton and glitter. It’s in mint colour which is one of my favourite colours and I’m really happy that I didn’t get the pink one, which wouldn’t be useful to me, since I don’t really wear pink on my nails. The usage of this product is very easy. First you have to choose a nail polish that you’ll use as a base for the powder. The best decision is of course a polish in the same shade as the powder is, otherwise the difference between powder and nail polish will be too visible and it won’t look as nice. Apply two coats of selected nail polish and immediately, when the polish is still wet, sprinkle the product on nails. That way it’ll stick to the nails very well and it won’t fall off as it would if the polish would be dry. I was actually doing each nail separately, and that way I ensured that the polish wasn’t dry when I sprinkled the powder on a nail. The final effect was really nice, it actually looked very similar to the effect that textured nail polishes give, except that it was softer on touch. I don’t recommend using a top coat, because it’ll ruin the effect. When you’re sprinkling the dust on your nails, it also ends up on cuticles, but it’s easy to remove with nail polish remover. I really liked how this dust looked on my nails, but I can’t say that this is a product I’ll use often on my nails – I’ll probably use it only for special occasions. First reason is that it gets dirty very fast and it’s hard to clean. I was doing a makeup the next day and a bit of foundation ended on my nails, but I couldn’t clean it out. The second reason is that most of the powder went off from most of my nails already on the next day, after I washed my hands few times. Now I’m not sure if the dust didn’t stick well enough or what was wrong, but I had to change my manicure next day, because I wasn’t really happy with the situation on my nails. If I ignore these two flaws, the cotton-glitter powder really gives a beautiful effect to the nails. But I’m not sure this effect is enough to recommend this product. If you like using powder for nails, go for it, otherwise skip it. The packaging contains 1,3 g of product and it costs 2,79 €

Vikend oddih v Termah Dobrna (Random Sunday #53)

$

:P Kosilo sva pojedla v restavraciji May v hotelu Vita.

Products That Disappointed Me #6

$

0
After one week I'm finally posting a new beauty post. This time I decided to talk about few beauty products that didn't work for me. Because most of these won't get a separate review, I'l share with you my short opinion about them or better said the reasons why these products didn't impress me.

Lush No Drought dry shampoo
I have no idea why I decided to get this product. It’s in the powder version which means that the usage it’s a bit harder as usage of regular dry shampoo (you must not wear anything black because the powder will be visible on clothes). This dry shampoo does quite a good job with removing the greasiness from hair, but the problem I have with it is that my scalp itches like crazy when I use it. Unfortunately I can’t say that the reason would be in expiration date, because I have this itchy reaction since the first usage. Maybe it just doesn’t work for me.

Fa Pink Passion Floral Scent deodorant
My mom was always a fan of Fa Pink Passion deodorant, but I never liked its strong sweet scent. Well, since I got this product as a Christmas gift, I couldn’t refuse it and I started to use it. A strong floral scent didn’t even bother me as much as smelly armpits. It didn’t even work as it should for two hours. And I was using it during winter. I don’t imagine how it would work for me in the summer; I would probably smell a thousand miles away if I would use it (just kidding ... not really).

Nivea Aqua Effect Soothing Cleansing Mousse
I actually liked this mousse, it cleaned my skin very nicely, it didn’t irritate it and the packaging is also great, but the problem I had with it is that it dried my skin. This fact actually wouldn’t bother me that much if this wouldn’t be the cleanser for dry and sensitive skin. I think the last thing that the person with dry skin wants is a cleanser that dries hers skin. I still haven’t try mousse for normal skin. I hope it’ll work better for me.

Balea Oil Fluid
I was really excited to try Balea’s oil fluid for removing makeup, because many bloggers praise oil removers, but unfortunately I wasn’t impressed. This product does a very lousy job at removing makeup. It does melt a bit of foundation from the skin, but it’s better that you don’t try to remove the eye makeup, because it’ll take forever. I actually use it as a cleanser to use it up. It’s very gentle and my skin feels good after the usage, but it’s true that it leaves the film on the skin. I kind of doubt I’ll repurchase it when I’ll use up this packaging.

Catrice 3in1 Colour Care Correct Skin Tone Adapting Makeup 010 Lighter Skin
This is a foundation that looks white in the packaging and when it comes in a touch with skin it adapts to the skin tone and becomes brownish. Unfortunately the lightest shade is still very dark – too dark for my skin tone, despite my tanned skin during the summer. The other factor that this product looks dark on my skin is probably its orange undertone, which doesn’t flatter the skin. On the other hand the texture is very light, but the foundation is very sheer, so it has a bad coverage. I also noticed that it emphasizes dry parts on my skin, which doesn’t look nice. It disappears quite quickly from my skin if I don’t set it with powder. If this wouldn’t look so dark and orange, this would be a nice summery product.

Essence I Don’t Need Money, Honey!
My heart is breaking that I have to put this one between disappointing products, but unfortunately I can’t recommend it. I mean, it’s a great polish – gorgeous shade, the formula is amazing, the brush is okay, the application is a dream and it dries fast. It sounds great, doesn’t it? Well, this polish has one huge flaw – the removal. This is the hardest nail polish to remove, even harder than glittery polishes. Why? Because it stains nails like it’s nobody’s business and it ends up on the half of the nail. And I literally mean the half of the nail. When I was cleaning each finger, it stayed on my cuticles and it also ended up higher on the nail. I took few clean cotton pads, which helped me to remove it from fingers but not from cuticle. For that I had to take a shower and wash my hair and a bit of green was still visible. I have to say this experience prevents me to wear it again.

Catrice Longlasting Brow Definer
This is a product that us bloggers got last year on Cosnova event, so I guess it was a novelty back then, but I haven’t read much about it on other blogs. Unfortunately I was not really impressed by it. The shade is not a problem, I think it matches my eyebrows well, but the problem is the pigmentation. The pencil has such a poor colour payoff. I do only few pulls with it on my brows when it just stops working and I can’t get any colour out of it. And after few usages the pencil got so dry that’s not even useful anymore. I’m not happy with this product, unfortunately, although Catrice usually makes good products for eyebrows.

Catrice Made to Stay Inside Eye highlighting pen
I already talked about this product here. While many people adore it, this pencil just doesn’t work for me. It’s waterproof and it doesn’t smudge that fast, I give it a plus for that, but its formula is so stiff that is so hard to apply on waterline, especially when I use shimmery or darker eyeshadows. I wish it would be creamier and that it would slip easier on waterline.

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think about them? Thank you for reading!

FOTD: Neon Green Cut Crease

I'm so excited about this post, because it's a collaboration post with amazing Tara from The Beauty of Nail Polish. We decided to do a matching makeup and manicure with neon colours. To see the manicure you'll have to check her blog and while you're there, don't forget to subscribe, because she posts many gorgeous manicures (link to her post)
If you're my regular reader, then you know I adore neon colours. Tara and I decided to focus more on a combination of blue, green and yellow shades. I actually can't believe how much I like this combination. If we wouldn't choose colours we are going to use I'd probably also include orange and red, but I have to admit I like this look better without those shades.

Because this is a technique I use a lot lately I decided to do a tutorial as well. You don't have to recreate this look, but I hope you'll try this technique - to have fun with makeup, if you're not daring enough to wear it outside.
Step 1: First I applied eyeshadow base. Then I placed a tape in outer corner of the eye, following the line from outer part of my eye till eyebrow. I used a brush that has dense bristles and pointed end and draw a blue line where I wanted the crease to be.
Step 2: I used the same blue eyeshadow and blended it up on browbone.
Step 3: I used concealer and an eyeshadow brush to correct the line in crease and make it sharper. Then I applied NYY Milk pencil on lids and blend it out. I used white pencil as a base because I wanted to make neon eyeshadows look more intense.
Step 4: I applied neon yellow shade on inner third part of my eye, but I was careful and I didn't apply it in inner corner.
Step 5: On the middle of the lid I applied neon green eyeshadow.
Step 6: In outer part of the lid I applied olive green eyeshadow.
Step 7: I used a pointed brush again and dark blue eyeshadow and I deepened the crease. Then I used a fluffy brush and blended out the dark blue with a neon pink shadow.
Step 8: I removed the tape and as you can see I got a nice sharp line there. On lower lash line I applied a shimmery blue eyeshadow.
Step 9: With eyeliner brush I extended the blue eyeshadow under my eyes and in a spot in between I applied a white pearly shade. The same pearly shade I applied in inner corner of my eye.
Step 10: In the end I draw I a cat line and applied mascara.

Review: Vichy Teint Ideal 15 Foundation

I have a feeling that July was not really a good month for blogging. I posted only few posts, but I promise that that’ll be different in August. Telling the truth, I didn’t had much time in last two weeks for my blog, and also the heat did not influence on me in a good way – it was just too hot to sit in front of the computer and because of the heat I often had headaches and I just couldn’t get proper words out of my head. I also had a short personal and blogger crisis (those days come, too, you know), but now I feel much much better and I’m actually planning to post four to five times a week in August. I hope nothing will come in between and I’ll manage to realize my plans.

For today I prepared a review I know many of you were waiting for. I’m reviewing Vichy Teint Ideal foundation in lightest shade 15. If I'd write this review few weeks ago it wouldn't be very positive review. But in those last few weeks I really changed my mind about this foundation or better said in the summer this foundation become my most used summer foundation, and in this post I’m going to tell you why. But let me start with the review at the beginning.

Since Vichy is quite expensive brand, their packaging is in accordance with the price. The foundation has a fancy glass bottle packaging, which contains 30 g of product. I can give the highest grade to the packaging, because the bottle is sturdy and it won’t break fast. The cap is plastic, but despite the frequent usage it didn’t break. I think that till now this is the only foundation that I got in a cardboard packaging, on which all important information about the foundation are written. Slovenian ladies can get Vichy products in most Slovenian pharmacies and on Salma.si for around 21 - 22 €

I received this product around four months ago. I didn't buy it, I won it in a giveaway, but that doesn't effect on my opinion. Four months ago I was much paler than I am now. Because I spend a lot of time in the sun while working outside in the fields and garden I got tanned. I'm still not that dark, but I could say around one to two shades darker than I was. Shade 15 is the lightest shade in Vichy Teint Ideal collection and in the bottle it looks very light, so I thought and expected that the shade will suit me. Well, I was wrong. You can't imagine the first shock I got when I applied this product in my skin. Beside the fact that it was too dark for me it became orange. It looked horrible. I was so disappointed. But because I liked the formula of the foundation I decided to find a solution so I could wear it. Back then the best way for me to wear it was to mix it with white Makeup Revolution foundation. White foundation made it lighter and it almost matched my skin. It still became a bit orange, but that wasn't as noticeable as it was before. Some people also adviced me to set it with powder and that after a while it'll adapt to the skin and the orange undertone won't be visible anymore. I tried to do that, but unfortunately it didn't help, because the foundation was too dark for me. After few usages I put it in the shelf and stopped using it for some time. Meanwhile I managed to use up Catrice and Yves Rocher foundations and although I did buy a Bourjois foundation that matches to my skin tone, I decided to give Vichy another chance. Well, I was surprised again. The shade matched my skin better than before and although it still became orange on me, I solved that with the powder (by my experience loose powder worked the best). I used powder that was translucent or very light and after some time the combination adapted to the skin and the orange undertone was gone (maybe it was only visible on my forehead). But still, Vichy has one huge flop - the lightest foundation is too dark for pale people, so they should make even lighter one. I guess Vichy is going to be my go to foundation in the summer because of its light texture and darker shade, since it'll be impossible for me to use it during winter when I'm going to loose tan.

Vichy Ideal fluid is designed for people with normal to combination skin type. It’s a bit liquidier and less creamy than Catrice or Bourjois foundations, but it’s easy to apply and blend on the skin. It has a medium coverage and it’s buildable without looking cakey. The finish that Vichy foundation leaves is dewy and the duration time really is good– it lasts up to 10 hours. Another flaw that this foundation has is that it emphasizes dry parts, but for me this isn’t a huge problem because for example also Bourjois foundations do the same on my skin. A have to provide good moisture to the skin before I apply foundation and the problem is solved. Vichy foundation does not contain parabens and it's appropriate for sensitive skin.

I made a comparison with lightest shades of Catrice Nude Illusion and Yves Rocher Youthful Glow foundations. I think the photo says enough. Vichy foundation is much darker and orange than Catrice or Yves Rocher.

Today while writing this review I remembered that it would probably be good if I'd compare Vichy foundation to Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, since many people use it. Unfortunately the swatch isn't the best, because of today's strange light, but at least it's noticeable how much darker is Vichy from Bourjois.

Some time ago I read an article on one of Slovenian beauty portals about beauty rules that you should break, and the writer recommended in it that you should test the foundation on your forehead, not anymore on your neck. Telling the truth, I have no idea where this statement came from, because from my own experience I can tell that my forehead is darker than my neck or my body and if I’d buy a foundation considering this advice I’d get too dark foundation. Anyway, I remembered on this article because I wanted to show you this photo that was taken around a month ago. I used Vichy foundation here and as you can see it still looks a bit orangey on me, but if I set it with brighter powder it adapts to the skin tone and it looks okay.

My final opinion: this foundation definitely has an amazing texture that feels light and great on the skin, but unfortunately it has one huge flaw – it’s too dark and it becomes orange on the skin. I like to use it during summer, but I’d definitely recommend to any of you that you try a tester before buying a full size product, because 20 € isn’t little money. I know some people (like Tara) adore this product because it suits them and it doesn’t become orange on them. If you’ll try tester you’ll know if it works for you or not. I personally probably won’t repurchase it after I use up this bottle, because cheaper foundations (Bourjois, Catrice), work better for me.

Have you tried Vichy Teint Ideal foundation? How does it work for you? Thank you for reading!

My Current Skincare Routine

Some time ago one of my readers asked me to write about my skincare routine during summer. My summer skincare routine isn’t much different from winter one, it differs only in the fact that I use a bit lighter face cream and that I add a sunscreen to the routine, if I’m spending my time in the sun. But since I’m using mostly different products as I did when I last wrote about my skincare routine, I decided to fulfil reader’s wish and write about my current skincare routine (although I did change one product, after I took those photos – I’m testing a new product that I’m going to review next month).

In the morning I wash my face with Mixa Anti-dryness Cleansing milk. The main reason I use this one in the morning is because it makes my skin very soft and silk on touch. This is primary a makeup remover for dry skin, but it does a very lousy job at removing makeup, so I had to find it another purpose. As cleanser it works much better, but I prefer to use it when I don’t wear makeup. Mixa products don’t contain parabens and alcohol. 200 ml cost around 6-7 € and you can get them in Múller, DM or Tuš drugstore.

On the days when I wear makeup my favourite cleanser is Afrodita Clean Phase Cleansing Gel. First I remove my makeup with micellar solution (currently I’m testing five different solutions and soon I’ll write a comparison post) and then I use this gentle gel cleanser that cleans the skin perfectly and after its usage there’s not a tiny bit makeup on my skin anymore. This makeup can be used on any skin type and I have to say I didn’t notice that it would dry my normal skin. The reason is probably in hyaluronic acid that gel contains and which helps to moisturize the skin. One squeeze is enough to wash my whole face, because the gel foams nicely and it’s also easy to wash off with water. After the wash my skin feels clean, soft and fresh. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the packaging, because the lid seems very weak, hard to open and I always have a feeling that I’ll break it (although I haven’t broke it yet, I’m quite attentive by usage). Otherwise I find a tube packaging really nice, because it’s easy to use and it enables an easy dosage. 150 ml cost around 5 € and the product it’s available in stores that hold Afrodita.

After I wash my face with cleanser I use tonic. My favourite tonic has quickly become Afrodita Clean Phase Ultra Moisturizing tonic. I think I finished two or three bottles already. I drop few drops on the cotton pad and then I wipe my whole face with it. I love this tonic so much, because it gives my skin a nice refreshing feeling, it makes it soft and smooth and it also provides additional moisture. It takes a minute or two that this tonic sinks into the skin and during this procedure becomes a bit sticky, but after I apply a serum and a face cream, the stickiness disappears completely. The price for 200 ml is around 5 €.

Currently I’m using Vichy Aqualia Thermal serum, which I love. This serum impressed me already after the first usage. If I don’t mention a fancy glass bottle with a pump that enables an easy dosage, its formula it’s amazing and I think it would work great on every skin that needs additional moisture. It’s very light serum that’s perfect for summer. After I apply it on my skin it feels so nice and refreshing. I usually use two pumps, which I apply all over my face with a dabbing technique. It takes few minutes that it sinks in and that my skin is prepared for a day/night cream. Vichy serum is available in pharmacies and on Salma.si. 30 ml cost 26 €.

I won’t talk much about Laino Pure Argan Oil, because I’m going to review this product separately. I use it mostly in the evening, after I clean my makeup off and I want to pamper my skin. I apply one or two pumps on my skin and then leave it for some time, because this is pure argan oil and it doesn’t sink into the skin that fast. But in the morning I wake up with the most beautiful skin – smooth, soft and moisturized. Even if I use it alone, without tonic and serum underneath, my skin doesn’t itches in the morning, which means this product is enough to pamper it (but I do cleanse it with cleaning gel before). In Slovenia Laino is available on Medioforma, which holds different French brands, and 100 ml cost 21,90 €.

For my day care I’m currently using AlpStories Hyaluronic Acid Cream. This is another product I’m going to review soon, so I’ll just share with you some basic information. The cream comes in a glass bottle with a pump, and is definitely more hygienic as jars. The cream itself is white and thicker, but once you spread it over the skin, it sinks fast. I usually use two to three pumps. Now in the summer, especially on hotter days, when my skin isn’t as dry as in winter, this cream provides me enough moisture in a combination with a good tonic and serum. Unfortunately I have to say that this cream won’t work for me in the winter, because I’ll need something more nourishing. This cream costs 39,10 € (50 ml) on Alpstories site.

In the evening, when I don’t use Laino oil, I use Natura Siberica Aralia Mandshurica night cream for dry skin. I bought it in DM with a coupon and I never imagined I’d like it so much. The packaging is a plastic tube with a pump and I’m really starting to like the tube packaging more than jars. This cream is very rich, although not very thick and it’s non-greasy, but it sinks into the skin fast. I actually got this cream to use it in winter, but I tried it immediately and liked it so much that I had to start using it in summer already. But luckily is not too rich for my skin during summer and it makes it soft, smooth, nourished and feeling great in the morning. The funny thing about this cream is that it has a very strong scent, but I don’t smell anything special – it actually smells ... natural. I know, it sounds weird the way I say it, but it’s truth. I got this cream in DM, but I know that also drugstore Tuš holds this brand. The price of the cream is around 10 € (50 ml).

Products I’m using occasionally on my skin are peeling and face cream. Peeling I’m currently loving is Soraya So Pretty apricot peeling. It’s quite gentle comparing it to the Balea Creme peeling. First I wet my skin. Then I squeeze a bit of peeling on my hand and I gently spread it all over my face. I massage my face for one or two minutes and then I wash it off. The feeling on the skin after I wash it off is the most amazing. It’s so smooth and I really have a feeling that the peeling did the job perfectly. The peeling also has a gorgeous gentle apricot scent and I really love that’s not over scented. It’s available on Soraya’s site and it costs 11,20 €.

Other product I use to pamper my skin is Oriflame Optimals Aqua Refresh Face Mask. It’s a transparent mask and the tube contains 75 ml, which means that it’ll last me forever (I use it once every one or two weeks). I squeeze as many product out of the tube as I need to cover up my face and then I leave it for 10 minutes. At the beginning it gives a nice refreshing feeling to the skin that disappears after few minutes. After I wash it off my skin is soft and smooth. After that I continue with my normal skin care routine (tonic, serum, face cream). But I have to mention one other thing. I noticed that around my nose and on spots I have any little wound, my skin burns a bit at the beginning when I apply this mask. But after I wash it my skin does not look read. I don’t understand the best in ingredient, but I think this mask contains something that irritates sensitive skin, so I wouldn’t recommend it to people with sensitive skin.

I won't mention the sun screen, because I'm using the same as last year and I already wrote about it here. Tell me, have you tried any of these products? What do you think about them? Thank you for reading!

English recipe is at the bottom of this post.

Če niste velik ljubitelj sladkega, potem raje preskočite rozine, ker že same banane dajo piškotom sladkobo, rozine pa jih naredijo zelo zelo sladke.

As a huge sweet tooth I have a problem, when I decide to stop eating sweets, because then I don’t know what to eat when the desire for sweets becomes strong. Healthy desserts are the solution for me then. Recently I was browsing on Youtube and I found a video of MissRemiAshten, in which she baked oatmeal cookies and they looked so delicious that I had to try them immediately. I adjusted the recipe a bit and today I’m sharing with you my version of these cookies. I love them, because they are so easy and quick to prepare.

What will you need for oatmeal cookies?
2 bananas
a cup of oatmeal
raisins (optional)
chocolate bits (optional – for a bit less healthy version)
cinnamon (optional)

You’ll need less than a half an hour to prepare and bake these cookies. First you have to mash both bananas. Then add a cup of oatmeal and mix them with bananas. After that add ingredients of your taste – I decided for raisins, chocolate bits and cinnamon. If you’re not a big sweet tooth, skip the raisins, because bananas themselves are quite sweet and raisins will make cookies even sweeter. I added cinnamon, because I’m a huge fan of its taste and I prefer the taste of cookies with it.

On a baking tin place a baking paper and smear it with coconut butter (or something else). I haven’t use coconut butter when I was baking these cookies for the first time and they stuck on the paper so hard that I barely separated them from it. Use a spoon to form the cookies and then bake them at 180 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.

I hope you like this recipe and that you’re going to try it. I really like them in a combination with greek yoghurt, so tasty. Thank you for reading!

Review and Swatches: Catrice Lumination Pink MATTrix Lipstick

New Catriceproducts have already hit our stores (Müller to be exact) and among them there was also a new limited edition collection Lumination. I swatched the whole collection and in the end most interesting products for me was lipstick in the shade Pink MATTrix. I have to admit I didn’t devote much time to the decision which products should I take with me together with the lipstick, because new Catrice products stole my attention.

The packaging itself looks quite fancy and expensive – lipstick comes in a rosy golden metallic packaging with an interesting wavy design on the lid. Otherwise the packaging is the same as Ultimate Colour range lipsticks have it, with the lid that closes nicely and you don’t have to be afraid that it’ll open in the bag, if you’re going to carry it around.

Pink MATTrix is a semi-matte pink lipstick with a very creamy formula and a nice colour payoff. It covers up the lips in one swipe, but since it’s a bright shade, the application on outer part of the lips must be quite careful. The lipstick wears quite nicely, it doesn’t dry the lips, but it also doesn’t feel special moisturizing. From my lips it wore off in two hours. I was a bit disappointed by that, because from my experience Catrice lipsticks last for three or four hours on lips. Lipstick does transfer on the glass and it does not survive eatingvery well. I also noticed that it doesn’t fade away evenly. I think I was spoiled by brands like Sleek and Bourjois, who make amazing matte lip products that last for hours on my lips, and maybe here’s the reason of my disappointment, but no matter that I really like the shade. Although it’s not the most unique.

I compared Pink MATTrix with few other pink shades in my stash and although I haven’t found a 100% dupe, it’s actually quite close to other shades. There are slight differences between them, for example Maybelline Vivid Rose is brighter, while P2 Baker Street and Essence Waka Waka have more purple in them than Catrice. But someone who’s not a (pink) lipstick fan probably wouldn’t notice the difference between them.

Catrice lipstick contains 3,5 g and I paid 4,29 € for it at Müller. Although its longevity disappointed me, because I’m use to longer duration of Catrice lipsticks on my lips, I find the shade quite pretty and also its texture is really nice. I think this is definitely a me shade.

Did you get anything from Catrice Lumination collection? Thank you for reading!

Review: Laino Pure Argan Oil

I was always so afraid of using oils on my face, because I didn't know how my skin would react and I was afraid that it would break out, but when I first tried Nuxe dry oil I knew my fears were unnecessary. Recently I received Laino Argain Oil, which can be used for skin, body or hair care. Laino is a French brand that offers products made of natural ingredients, and their products are without parabens, phenoyxethanol and artificial colourings. The brand that’s on the market for 30 years is available in Slovenia as well.

Laino Pure Argan oil is made out of 100 % natural ingredient– argan oil that is rich in omega-6, omega-9, vitamin E and polyphenols. It’s a product that nourishes, protects and brightens the face, body and hair. It’s hypoallergenic and appropriate for all skin types. It also helps combat signs of ageing and skin slackening.

It sounds like an amazing product and for me it is an amazing product. A lot of bloggers and other cosmetics enthusiast praise oils in skin care routine and although I sometimes used Nuxe dry oil, I haven’t used any oil regular until I got this one. I was a bit afraid at the beginning that it’ll break out my skin, but my fear was unnecessary. Okay, during the summer I have few pimples on my skin, but they appear because of the heat, so no blame goes to this oil. I can’t say how it would work on other skin types, but on my normal skin it works amazing. I drop one to two pumps on my fingertips and then spread it all over the face. Since this is pure oil it doesn’t sink into the skin that fast, so I usually apply it at least a half an hour before sleep, so that it sinks properly and it doesn’t end up on my sheets. In the morning I wake up with beautifully smooth and soft skin that looks healthy and nourished. I don’t use it daily; I use it when I want to pamper my skin, mostly after I remove a heavy makeup that I wear during the day.

I haven’t said anything about the packaging yet. Oil comes in a brown plastic bottle with a pump. The packaging seems very sturdy, the lid is also plastic and it didn’t break (yet), and the pump enables an easy dosage. The bottle is transparent, so you can see how much product is still in (I love that). The pump is matte black and when I pump the oil out of it, it becomes all shiny and dirty, but I guess I can’t expect that it’ll look like new after so many usages. The bottle contains 50 ml of oil, but I use a small amount of product at once. I use it for more than a month now and I used around one fifth of the product, so it last me for a long time and I can’t wait to try it in the winter and see how it’ll work for me then.

You can get Laino products on Mediforma and in some pharmacies, and for this oil you’re going to pay 21,50 €. It’s not the cheapest product, but since it uses up very slowly I think it’s worth the money, at least for me. It’s indispensable part of my skin care routine. I can’t say how it would work on other skin types (especially on mixed or oily skin), but for me it works amazing. As a beauty blogger I’m always eager to try new products and in the future it can happen that I’ll try any other face oil that’s very recommended (AlpStories, I’m looking at you), but I would definitely repurchased this one if I’d ran out.

Do you use face oil in your skin care routine? Which one is your favourite? Thank you for reading!

Considering that I started my blogging path as a nail blogger I post really little manicures on my blog lately. I still regularly paint my nails, but lately I just find it more interesting to write about other products or showing you my makeup looks. But yesterday I made a manicure I'm really proud of (although it's not perfect) and I couldn't wait to show it to you. Maybe you've heard about stamping decals till now. If you haven't this is a technique that helps you to create your own colourful decals. You just pick your design from the plate with stamper as you normally would, but then you don't place it immediately on your nails, but instead you colour it with chosen shades, seal with top coat, wait some time that it dries and then you place it on your nails. I always found this technique difficult, but my problem was that I waited too long for my stickers to dry and then they didn't stick on nails nicely. But yesterday I finally did it as I should.

Polishes I used for this manicure are Models Own Bikini, Models Own Beach Bag, Bourjois Chair et Tendre, Essie Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low and H&M Silver Glitter. For decals I used plate BP-73,Bourjois Turquoise Block and Misslyn Drama Baby

I got plate BP-73* from Born Pretty Store. For any purchases use my code DFL91 for 10% discount.

FOTD: Sea Princess

Going thorough my blog folder I noticed that I haven't showed you yet all makeup looks I created for Tara's competition more than a month ago. One of the themes was "sea" and I decided to create something that would remind me on a sea princess (I didn't want to create a mermaid, because it's too characteristic for the theme sea, although it's still on my to do makeup list). Of course the colour I used was blue, which is also one of my favourite colours for creating, and the technique I used is cut crease. Since I discovered an easier way to create a cut crease I do it constantly. Maybe you already find me boring because I do it so much, but it's fun and it also looks great. Unfortunately I only have two photos of this look, although I made them many, but they didn't really succeed. I'm sad because of that, because this is one of my favourite looks I did recently.
Makeup on eyes is pretty simple. White on the lids, dark blue in crease and on brow bone and turquoise under my eyes. I also used turquoise shade to contour the hollows under my cheeks and my temple. Then I stuck blue nail glitter on my temple with lash glue. I highlighted my forehead and the top of my cheekbones with golden eyeshadow. On my cheeks I applied a pinky blush and on my lips a matte coral lip cream, which seems like a nice finish touch to this makeup look.

Ocena: Herbio zeliščni tonik

$

Review and Swatches: MeMeMe Satin Lip Cream Cherub Blush/Gaia

It's been a while since I last wrote about MeMeMe products that I got a while ago and think I tested them long enough to tell you more about them. Unfortunately I'm staring with a product that didn't really convince me. I’m talking about the lipstick Cherub Blush.

I really like the concept of satin lip creams. Brand MeMeMe was inspired by Ancient Greek and each satin lip cream is named after one of Greek’s goddess. Cherub Blush is also named Gaia, who was the Earth Mother and also a mother of Greek gods, Titans and Giants. Lipstick comes packed in a beautiful black cardboard packaging– in front there are both names of lipstick, on one side there’s a picture of Greek goddess Gaia, on other is the description who Gaia was and in the back there’s ingredient list (click here). Writing and the top and the bottom of the packaging are in the shade of the lipstick. The black matte packaging of the lipstick itself is also very pretty and fancy looking. Lip cream, as MeMeMe calls them, aka lipstick, as I call it, should be long lasting and is enriched with Shea Butter and Vitamin E.

The lipstick has creamy, non-sticky formula that glides easy on lips, but unfortunately the shade is not very fortunate. It's a bright brown nude shiny lipstick that many people won't like and it also won't look good on everyone. It quite depends from the skin tone you have. I personally have to say I'm quite lucky that it doesn't look horrible on me, it actually suits me quite well (especially now when I’m tanned), but unfortunately it's a sandy brown shadethat isn't really by my taste. What bothers me even more about this lipstick is the smell. It's a strange earthly scent. Beside that this lipstick has a bit funny taste, too. The unusual scent doesn’t bother me much as long as it’s not strong, but unfortunately here the scent is just too strong. Around 20 minutes after the application the scent isn’t noticeable as much, but the taste stays. I’m really sad because of the taste and scent, because the formula of this lipstick is very pleasant to wear and it doesn’t dry the lips. The lipstick also has a nice colour payoff, because it covers the lips with one swipe. I sometimes use it when I do bolder looks, and if I wear it I usually stay at home. The scent just bothers me too much to wear it regularly. I also noticed that it lasts a bit longer than my other nude lipsticks, although I can’t say that the duration time is amazing. As far it goes for drinking and eating, this lipstick won’t survive either of them.

I compared it to few of my nude shades and as you can see it‘s a unique shade. Other nude shades have more pink or red undertone than Cherub Blush and that’s probably the reason why they suit more people.

I could forgive a bit unusual shade to this lipstick if there wouldn’t be the strange annoying scent and the taste that comes with it. I can’t recommend you this lipstick, because I doubt you’re going to like it. However, Sanja says that other lipstick shades from MeMeMe are much better and I really trust her words, so I definitely wouldn’t mind checking other shades. She said that the other lipstick that she owns has quite a pleasant scent, but since few of us bloggers noticed a strange scent by Cherub Blush shade I guess there’s something wrong with this particular shade. I’d say skip this one, after all it costs 13,67 € on Moja drogerija (£8.95on MeMeMe site), which is not so little, and rather try any other shade.

Have you tried MeMeMe Satin Lip Cream lipsticks? How do you like them? Thank you for reading!

Zaradi kremaste teksture so šminke v angleščini poimenovane »lip creams«, vsebujejo pavitamin E in karitejevo maslo

Summer in the City

When I received Sleek Sunset palette about a month and a half ago, I was inspired to do a summerish makeup post, in which I’d show you products I like to use for my makeup in summer and also few makeup looks. Of course I don't wear makeup on a daily basis. When it's over 30 °C I usually skip makeup, because then everything is just melting from my face.
I was preparing this post for more than a month and now I finally have it for you. I’d actually post this before, but in hot days it was so hard for me to sit in front of the computer and write something + I also had some technical difficulties. I filmed a video for one look, but always when I almost finished editing it, my footage started to disappear and became blank. I have no idea if the problem is in the footage or in video editor, but I don’t want to wait longer with this post, since is the middle of August and the summer is going to its end slowly.

Face
A good primer can really help to prolong the duration of the foundation in hot days, and one of my favourites is L’Oreal Lumi Magique, which can be used not just as primer, but also mixed with foundation to give it more dewy finish or as a highlighter on cheeks. Summer days are all about light foundations and BB creams that don’t give you a feeling of a facade on your face. When I’m doing makeup looks for blog or when I’m going out I like to use Vichy Teint Ideal foundation in shade 15. It’s quite a dark foundation with medium coverage, but it has a very light texture, and this property makes it perfect for summer. I just recently reviewed it (click). On days when I want to wear a very simple makeup or I just want to put something on quickly, I use Nivea BB cream. This BB cream is very thick, I don’t think I ever used such a thick foundation, but it’s very lightweight on the skin. I usually apply a thin layer of it with fingers and if I feel that I need more, I upgrade it. The same as Vichy foundation this cream is also quite dark, but since I apply a thin layer it adapts to my skin tone and it evens it out.  My skin looks very summerish when I wear it and this BB cream gives it a healthy glow. To set up your foundation and make it last even longer a powder is a must. Two powders that really work nice on my skin are Catrice Colour Correcting Mattifying Powder Delicate Blossom and Bourjois Silk Edition 51 Porcelain
For some people bronzed skin is a must for the summer. I don't use bronzer that often, I actually like to use bronzers for contouring. The one I really like is Alverde Jungle Fever Shimmering Bronzer, which is unfortunately discontinued.

On cheeks I either use shimmery blush that gives nice glow to the cheeks, such as Essence RingAround the Rosy is, or creamy blushes that tend to last better on my face during hotter days. Makeup Revolution All About Cream blush palette is a perfect solution for those on a budget, because it contains 8 blushes that are super pigmented and easy bleandable. Essence also offers creamy blushes (Sweet as a Peach) that give nice colour to the cheeks, and beside those creamy highlighters (Look on the Bright Side) that are easy and quick to apply, and give a nice summer glow to the face.

Eyes
Bronze, golden, brown, burgundy shimmery shades are perfect to use on lids in the summer. Summer is all about glow, and shimmery eyeshadows definitely create it. Sleek Sunset palette screams summer with its gorgeous shades, and the quality is the one that always impresses me. You can never go wrong with Sleek palettes because of amazing colour payoff, silky texture, longevity and nicely bleandable formula. Very similar to Sleek is Essence All About Sunrise palette that contains 6 shimmery eyeshadows that create beautiful summery makeup on eyes, but of course the quality is not as good as Sleek has it.
A must have products for the summer are definitely creamy eyeshadow. Their best quality is that they are easy to apply and they don’t smudge from lids very fast. I haven’t tried them many, but I can definitely confirm that Maybelline Colour Tattooshave great quality. By us you can get 8 eyeshadows in neutral and colourful shades. They are easy to upgrade, you can apply them with fingers or brushes, and once they dry they don’t move for a whole day. When I wore my look with Permanent Taupe, Turquoise Fever and Endless Purple, they strayed on lids without creasing for 12 hours. I was surprised and impressed by the same time.
A good way to make quick makeup in summer is a usage of different colourful eyeliners. Colourful eyeliner on eyes or a black cat eye with pop of colour on waterline or under the eyes is an interesting makeup solution for summer that is quickly done and looks gorgeous. Maybelline, Misslyn and Deborah (and probably few more drugstore brands) are few brands that are currently offering colourful liquid and pencil eyeliners.

Lips
Bright and matte is my favourite combination for lips in the summer. While eyes are either bold or neutral I always like to emphasize the lips. I’m not the biggest fan of Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet lip lacquer formula, but the shades are bright, some even neon, which makes them perfect to wear during the summer (if you’re bold enough). Two brands that make amazing matte liquid lipsticks areSleek and Bourjois. Both offer pigmented and long lasting shades, and while from first brand the Party Pink (which is actually a coral shade) is my go to shade in summer, by second one I find Pink Pong as a nice summerish shade. Beside pink and coral I also like orange shades during the summer (AvonTangerine).

Warm sunset makeup look

A shimmery bronzed-orange look contains summery colours and is a choice of many ladies in the summer, I’d say. I like to create mine with Sleek Sunset palette and finish it off with cat eyeliner. I really like to wear the cat eyeliner, because I think it makes my eyes look bigger. I filmed a video tutorial for this look, but as I said before, always when I was editing something was wrong, so unfortunately I can’t share it with you. I regret now that I didn’t rather take a photo tutorial instead.
By this look I used Vichy Teint Ideal foundation 15, Bourjois Silk Edition compact powder Porcelain and MeMeMe Flawless concealer Beige on my face, Alverde Jungle Fever Shimmering Bronzer for contouring, Essence Ring Around the Rosy blush on cheeks and Maybelline Vivid Rose on lips.

Playful colours on eyes

Some people are maybe afraid of colours on eyes, but I’m definitely not one of them and in the summer I like them even more. I created this look for Maybelline makeup competition on Facebook (which has ended already), but I felt like this looks is really suitable for this post. I created it with Maybelline Colour Tattooshades and it’s very easy to do.

First I applied Permanent Taupe in crease as a transition colour. Then I applied Turquoise Fever on my lids. In crease and outer v I used Endless Purple. This shade applied a bit uneven, so I had to use tapping motions to achieve bigger intensity. Under my eyes I first applied Turquoise Fever and then Endless Purple over it to get a bit more blue shade. In the end I just applied mascara and voila, makeup look was done. I combined it with purple lipstick, but of course it can be combined with more neutral shades as well.

Colourful eyeliner variations
Colourful eyeliner is the easiest makeup look you can create and it still looks more interesting than just a plain look with mascara. When I’m in the hurry I just use liquid eyeliner or cream eyeshadow, create a cat eye look with it and my eyes are done after application of the mascara. If I want to create a bit more interesting look, I do a black cat eye look and line my under eye area with colourful eye pencil (Misslyn Cornflower). The most interesting look which also takes a bit more time than other two is double eyeliner. For this post I created rainbow neon eyeliner, but easier way is to use just one colour.

First I lined my eye with white pencil which was also a base for neon eyeshadows (white makes neon pop out more). In inner corner I first applied a neon yellow shade and then I continued with neon green, neon orange, neon pink and neon purple. After application of each eyeshadow I took time and blended the two shades together to achieve a nice gradient transition. Then I carefully applied black eyeliner, a beige jumbo pencil on waterline to make my eyes look bigger and mascara. I combined this look with neon peachy lip lacquer from Makeup Revolution Keep Crying for You.

Since I usually do colourful eyeliner look when I’m in a hurry, I apply Nivea BB cream with fingers all over my face, a bit of concealer (MeMeMe Flawless Finish Beige) under my eyes and creamy blush on my cheeks. This time I chose Essence Sweet as Peach. Sometimes I also set everything with powder. On lips I used Makeup Revolution Keep Flying for You. Mascara I used for all eyeliner looks is Essence Lash Mania (waterproof version).

I hope you liked this post. Tell me, which is your favourite makeup look (everyday and for night out) for the summer. Thank you for reading!

Make Me Pretty With Essence

Essence Make Me Pretty was a trend edition collection that immediately caught my eye, and it was sold out in a minute it hit the store. Fun and colourful design definitely convinced many people and me as well. When I found this collection in Müller, a lot was already sold out, but I did find few brushes I wanted. I took bronzer, blush, concealer and pointed brushes. I also wanted a lip brush, but there wasn’t a piece left for me, and an eyebrow brush, but in the store I changed my mind and left it there.

Brushes come in plastic bags that had a paper with the message on them – each brush wears a different positive message. Each is designed in its own colour with different geometric designs, the holders are plastic and bristles are synthetic. Essence does not create the same quality products when it comes to brushes. Some of them are really amazing considering the low price and some are, if I use a bit nicer word, bad. I have to say I was not impressed by brushes from this collection as I expected I will be. I was, frankly, quite disappointed when I first tried them. It seemed like most of the brushes doesn’t do the job for which they were created very well. I had to Google reviews to see if I’m the only one that’s not impressed, because till then I read mostly positive reviews from bloggers I follow. But I found few reviews that agreed with me and now I feel a bit more calm writing this review.

Bronzer brush – Walking on Sunshine
A gorgeous green brush is bringing the message “Best friends are hard to find, because the very best is already mine.” While I’m in love with the packaging I don’t understand, why this is a bronzer brush. It’s true it has very soft bristles, but they are too dense and the application of dry products is a disaster with them. I tried it with bronzer first and the only thing I achieved with it was a clown look. It picks up too much product that’s very hard to blend with it. It works okay with products that are poorly pigmented, but you need another brush to blend everything anyway. I also tried to use it with powder, but I didn’t like it much, because I felt like it applied too much product on one spot and not enough on other one. Because its bristles are so dense one blogger recommended it for application of foundation and I have to say I was impressed how good it applied and blended foundation. It applied it more naturally looking than Zoeva or Real Technique brushes. But unfortunately it soaks in too much foundation, which I use up two times more as I do with Zoeva or RT brushes. This brush costs 3,59 €.

Blush brush – Blush up Your Life!
A pink angled brush wears a message “Be the most beautiful colour in the box.” The same as bronzer brush this one is also too dense and it makes the blending job quite difficult. This one would probably also be good for application of foundation, but I use it to apply less pigmented blushes on my cheeks. I tried it with more pigmented blushes, but the same as bronzer brush it doesn’t blend the blush very well, so I end up with too much blush on my face. If I use less pigmented blush I can upgrade it and that way to achieve quite a nice look. This brush was 3,29  €.

Concealer brush – Beauty is My Business
This is the brush I was the most excited about, because a good concealer brush is always a must, but unfortunately I didn’t like it that much. Its shape is perfect to fit under my eyes and apply a concealer nicely, its bristles are also soft, but it does a very bad job by blending concealer into the skin. I have to use my fingers or other brush for that. If I compare it to Body&Soul concealer brush that has a similar price and shape to Essence brush, Body&Soul brush is much better and it also blends the concealer better. I use Essence brush for application of concealer under my eyebrows to define them better and for this purpose I adore it, because it’s precise and I can do a straight line with it. The message that this brush wears is “Some days you just have to create your own sunshine”. This brush was 2,19 €.

Precise brush – Eye to Eye
This brush comes in green colour and its message is “Who’s the most wonderful & prettiest girl today?” This brush is perfect for application of highlighting eyeshadow in inner corner of the eye or to form outer V, but I don’t really like it for application of eyeshadow under my eyes, because I find bristles a bit too long. If I compare it to Ebelin or Body&Soul precise brushes, I find those two better, because they have smaller and denser bristles, which work amazing for any purpose, I can even use them to line my upper part of the eye with an eyeshadow. This brush costs 1,99 €.

Makeup bag and cleanser
In the collection there were also a bag and a brush cleanser. I really love the bag, the quality is good and even brushes from other brands fit in it. How much brushes fit in it depend from the bigness of each brush. On the other hand I’m not really sure what to think about the cleanser, which Essence named Be-you-tiful. The instructions say that you should spray the cleanser directly on the brush bristles and let it work for a couple of minutes. Then use a cloth to gently rub brush bristles until oil and dirt have been fully removed. After that leave the brushes that they dry. I followed the instructions and my observations are that it doesn’t really work with brushes that I used for creamy products (concealer, foundation etc.), because I couldn’t get those products out and I had to clean it with shampoo. I was cleaning the concealer brush after the first usage and although I left the cleanser on bristles for 10 minutes, swirl it on my hand and rinse it under the water, the concealer was still on bristles. It does work well with brushes which I used for powdery products, but only if they aren’t very dirty. For those I still need a shampoo to give them a good cleanse. I think this cleanser will come handy for my eye brushes which need to be cleaned regularly, because I often do colourful looks, but for my foundation and concealer brushes I’ll still need a shampoo to clean them properly. The cleanser contains 50 ml and it costs 2,79 €. The box costs 5,19 €.

I’m not that impressed and happy about this collection as I thought I will be. All brushes come with beautiful messages and the design is really gorgeous, but not every brush does the job it was created for great. Blush and bronzer brushes are too dense and it’s hard to blend powder products with them, and the same it goes for concealer brush – it applies concealer nicely, but it doesn’t blend it well. I did find a purpose for each brush and I will use them, but I guess if I’d skip this collection I wouldn’t miss anything.

Did you get anything from this collection? How do you like brushes? Which one is your favourite? Thank you for reading!

FOTD: Neon Rainbow Mask Makeup

Julia Graf is one of those Youtubers I really admire from one special reason - because she does amazing makeup tutorials. There was a time when I was subscribed to a bunch of Youtubers, but soon they started to bore me, because I really didn't want to see a hundredth video showing Kim Kardashian's makeup etc. Julia is one of rare Youtubers I still follow. Some time ago she posted a tutorial for neon rainbow mask makeup and I knew immediately I want to recreate it. It was fun, creative and neon, which is my favourite type of colours to use.
She used all the colours of the rainbow, but I decided to exclude purple and blue shades. I am so so happy with the final result, and I can ensure you it was very easy to do. All I needed was a good blending brush and some blending skills to create the mask. But I did had few problems with eyeshadow on my lids, because it started to crease. I don't know if it was too hot that day or the layer of a white cream base I applied under was too thick. Because I followed her tutorial I applied thick eyeliner and false lashes that were really a must for this look. I also wanted to glue two little golden masks on both sides on my cheekbones, but between the makeup process I lost one mask and I only had one left.
Since I really love creative makeup looks I'm thinking about doing few tutorials in September/October for Halloween. I just hope I'll have enough time, because lately it seems like my days are the busiest days ever.

P.S. I forgot to mention that I shared this look on Instagram and Twitter and Julia saw it. She retweeted it on Twitter and tweeted me it's beautiful. It was the most amazing fan girl moment for me this year (see the tweet here).
