Recap of Christmas Challenge 2014 - Sharing My Favourites

It's almost a week since December ended and with it also a Christmas challenge, but today I wanted to share with you a recap of my challenge and also my favourite entry from the girls that cooperated in the challenge. I'm so glad they took time and created lovely designs for each theme, especially because I know December was a busy month and creating a manicure/makeup and writing a post takes a time.

Recap of my work for Christmas challenge 2014
I kinda regret I didn't do makeup and nail art for each theme, but December was a busy month and I just didn't succeed. But I'm very happy with everyhing I did. If you missed any of my post, click on a label Christmas challenge 2014 and it'll show you all posts of the challenge.

Beautysaur is a blog, written by lovely Slovenian blogger Ana. She definitely did a great job with Christmas challenge. My favourite work of hers was a makeup she did for New Years Eve theme. She's so pretty and the combination of pink lips and silver eyes looks gorgeous on her.

The writer behind this blog is a Slovenian blogger Manca. She is a newbie, her blog is around a half year old, but she has very interesting blog. My favourite entry of hers was makeup look inspired by Elsa she did for fifth theme.

Tina decided to do her nails for all themes of Christmas challenge and she definitely did a great job with all of 10 manicures. My favourite was a stamping manicure for theme Your favourite thing about Christmas. Nude and blue are a perfect combination.

Aurora is a nail blogger with great nail art skills. Just look at these cute snowmans she did for a second theme of the challenge. I read her blog for a very long time now and I always enjoy in her posts.

First thing I want to mention about this girls is that she is always so sweet and nice in comments. She has great ideas for manicures and it was hard for me to choose my favourite one, because I was deciding between two, but in the end manicure inspired by Home Alone movie won me over.

Omg, I love this girl. She has the prettiest nails in the world and her nail art skills are amazing. Of course my favourite manicure of her is Olaf, which she did for Inspired by a movie theme. But all other manicures are amazing, too, so if you like nail art, she's a blogger you must follow.

This is a girl who has a great talent for nail art. She one of those who didn't finish the challenge (probably because of a lack of time), which is quite unfortunate, because I bet she'd do a great job with all other themes as well. My favourite of hers is a Christmas sparkle, for which she created amazing winter wonderland manicure. Otherwise Žana is one of the sweetest girls in blogger's world.

From two ladies that are writing this blog Ajda decided to join my challenge. Unfortunately illness crossed her plans, so she did only first theme. I'm a bit sad because of that, since she did such a gorgeous and amazing manicure that I felt in love with immediately. I bet all of her entries would be great.

I definitely recommend you to check each of these girls, all of them are very lovely and I bet you're going to find a lot of inspiration on their blogs. So, this is my last look back at 2014, tomorrow I'm starting with my regular posting again.

Thank you for reading!

Here I am with a second part of products I used up. Lately I'm finishing products like crazy. On the day I'm posting this post I already have around 10 empty products that will be featured by the end of the month.

Yves Rocher Jardins du Monde Velvety Shower Cream
I tried a Macadamia Nuts scent, which I really like. Their Velvety Shower Cream gel is very creamy, I had a feeling that it nourishes my skin nicely and the scent also stays on the skin for some time. It has a good formula, not too thick or liquidy. TIt contains 200 ml and the price is around 2 €.
Repurchase: Yes, when I'll have a chance.

Yves Rocher Jardins du Monde Energizing Shower gel
From this line I tused up scent Grapefruit from Florida. These shower gels have very strong scent. The other scent I have is Orange from Florida. They have a bit thicker formula that foams very good. They feel nice and fresh on the skin and don't dry it, but I have to say I prefer Velvety Shower Creams.
Repurchase: Maybe.

Dove Purely Pampering and Caring Protection shower gels
In the past I was avoiding Dove shower gels and I have no idea why, because they are really good. I finished two scents: Purely Pampering and Caring Protection. They are so creamy and nourishing. My skin is so soft after I take a shower with them and it smells so nice.
Repurchase: Yes.

Rexona Shower Clean Fresh deodorant
In the past I was avoiding deodorants in spray and I have no idea why. Few months ago I discovered Rexona Longlasting Protection Shower Clean Fresh deodorant and felt in love. Okay, maybe the scent is a bit too strong and it often finishes in my mouth (not good), but it works. Against sweathing and against bad smell. 48h is probably exaggerating, because everyone showers every day (or are at least washes themselves), but it works a whole day. It also doesn't contain any alcocol, which is good, because I can use it after I shave my armpits and it doesn't irritate my skin.
Repurchase: Already did.

Garnier Anti-Perspirant Action Control Mineral Deodorant
I love this deodorant, it really worked against sweating and bad scent, but only at the beginning. The longer I was using it, less it worked for me. I guess my skin got too much use to this deodorant or something.
Repurchase: Maybe.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstroctor
This is one of my best discoveries of the year. It's the best scented and best working conditioner I had. My hair is so soft and silky after usage. I just recently wrote about it, so you can read more here
Repurchase: Without a doubt.

Swiss O'Pair Argain Oil conditioner
Another conditioner I really liked, until I didn't try Aussie. It has a thick and creamy consistency, it smells nicely and it works good. You can read more about it here.
Repurchase: Probably not.

Balea Summer Garden shaving gel
I'm always mentioning Balea shaving gels in my empties, but I can't help myself if these are the best. In the summer I was using Summer Garden limited edition gel with a mango scent. I don't like eating mango, but I love its scent when it comes to cosmetics.
Repurchase: Yes, but a regular scent.

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation
I bought this foundation before they changed the packaging. As you can see there's still plenty of the product in the bottle, I think I'd have it for quite a nice amount of usages, but I can't get it out  of the bottle anymore. I hope new packaging is better. I liked this foundation, it had a light coverage, which it suited my skin. Well, later I discovered HM serum works even better for me.
Repurchase: No.

Bourjois Healthy Mix serum
My all time favourite foundation. The lightest shade Light Vanilla is a perfect match for me during the winter when I'm paler. It's a light coverage foundation, but buildable. I like light coverage foundation, because I don't have much blemishes on my skin and what I expect from foundation is to even out my skin tone. This one does the job perfectly.
Repurchase: Yes.

Essence All About Matt Fixing Compact Powder
I didn't even hit a pan on this one. Telling the truth I used it few times, before it felt on the floor and broke. I don't have a luck with this product, that happened to me for second time already. But otherwise I liked this product, it mattified my skin nicely and it didn't look cakey on it.
Repurchase: No.

Essence Stay All Day 16h concealer
One of my favourite concealers. It's not very opaque concealer, but enough for my skin, it doesn't feel dry on it, it's easy to blend and lasts long.
Repurchase: Yes.

Eveline Liquid Precision 2000 Procent eyeliner
I didn't like this eyeliner. First of all, it wasn't really pigmented. Second, it had a sponge applicator, which is not my favourite and it actually disables easy application and a nice line. I was mostly using it when I was doing bolder looks, because sponge applicator is very precise by applying a liner in inner corner of the eye.
Repurchase: No.

Essence Liquid Ink waterproof eyeliner
People praise this eyeliner, but I wasn't such a big fan. I mean, it's good eyeliner, but it didn't impress me as much as Catrice Ultra Fine Ink liquid eyeliner, which had better formula and it's more pigmented. Essence eyeliner started to crack on my eyes after few hours, which I didn't like. I actually find this fact quite interesting, because none of the new eyeliner (matte and high gloss) cracks.
Repurchase: No.

NOTD: Neon Stamping

Sometimes days just aren't inclined to blogging. It's not like I didn't plan a post for each day of this week, but some thing in personal life came in a way and they just didn't allow me to write those posts. But today I decided to take few minutes and to share with you a manicure I wore recently.

When days in your life aren't the brightest wear neons. Neons on my nails always bring me in a better mood. One of my favourite neon polishes of last summer is Models Own Beach Bag, which was a perfect choice for this time as well. Over it I stamped a design from Born Pretty Store plate 18. I used Essence Wild White Ways for that. It's very simple manicure, but since this peachy shade is already bright and "in your face" shade I wanted a more subtle design.

I hope that on Monday I'll be back to regular blogging and reviews. Till then, thank you for reading!

New In (December)

I'm super late with this post, since it's almost the middle of the January, but it doesn't matter, because I know you like these posts. Today I'm going to share with you products I bought in December. First part of my haul, which was a Graz haul, you can see here. December was a month to spend money like it's nobody's business. Now let's see what I got.

Let's start with a "secret gift" I received. I joined a Secret Santa project that was organized by Živa from Nothin' Fancy Really in our group Slovenian Bloggers on Facebook. Each of us got a present for one blogger and mine Santa was Tjaša from Ajda&Tjaša's Beauty Corner. She got me all these beauties you see on photo. I got some nail supplies, nail stickers, Misslyn nail polish Naughty Girl in and NYX butter gloss in Vanilla Cream Pie.

Next is new Deborah Milano palette Secret of the Smokey Eyes Nude Rose. I bought it for a half of the price with a DM coupon. It's such a lovely palette and colors are interesting as well. I will review it, I have all photos and swatches prepared, but I won't promise when review will be up, because always when I promise something, something else comes in between. But I'll try to do it as soon as possible, because I bet some of you are interested in this review. :)

Other product(s) I bought with a DM coupon for a half of the price is a set of Gliss Hair Repair Million Gloss products. It was a great deal and I wanted to try Million Gloss shampoo and conditioner, so I had to take this chance and get them. I think I paid around 7 € for a whole set with a coupon, I actually don't remember anymore, but it wasn't much. I haven't tried any of the products yet, first I have to finish products I'm using now.

Soraya surprised me with a 10 € coupon back in November and I used it in December. I bought their So Pretty peeling, which is really amazing. It cleans the skin perfectly and it makes it so soft. I also like that it doesn't dry it. I'll maybe review it after longer usage. Then I decided to try Hyaluronic Micro-Injection 100% serum. I use it for about a month now and it's good but I have to admit it didn't beat Balea Aqua serum, which I still prefer. The last product I put in my shopping basket is their hydrating mask. I haven' tried it yet, but I hope it'll be good, because it's very expensive, 10 ml cost around 4  €.

It looks like in December I was buying only on sales or with coupons. In Tuš drugstore Deborah Milano Gel Effect polishes were 50 % off and I had to take shades 01 and 10 with me. 01 is such a gorgeous nude shade and 10 is a coral shade. Not to mention how great formula these have.

You go to see the movie, you still have a half an hour before the movie begins and you go to DM to buy some nail polishes - that's a life of a beauty blogger. :P I always love good shopping at DM. They had 1+1 offer on Essie polishes and I got Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low and In Stiches. Both are gorgeous shade. I also bought L'Oreal Laetitia, which is a pretty dark red shade with tiny shimmer. The other thing I took with me is their vintage inspired cream 50's Forever. Mateja raved about it and her words convinced me to get it. This cream literally smells like cherry, it sinks into skin fast and makes it soft and moisturized. On Destination Pretty I ordered Seche Vite fast drying top coat.

On Click2Chic I ordered a beauty box, in which I received 7 products. I already reviewed it, so more about it here.

Born Pretty Store send me few products to test: Christmas water decals you saw here, stamping plate 18 and flower designed water stickers.

I also placed an order at Born Pretty Store. I need nail wheels for swatching nail polishes for different posts (comparisons ...) or doing nail art tutorials. I also ordered some knuckle rings, which were very cheap, around 1-1,5 €. I like them, but they are small. Most of them fit on my pinkie or ring finger. I guess Asian girls have very thin fingers. Other thing I ordered from BPS is Christmas plate that came one day before Christmas, so I couldn't create many Christmas manicures, but it'll come handy next year this year.

FOTD: Ice Queen

I'm the worse at recreating makeup. I still have much to learn. Back in November I bought a magazine with the cover of an »Ice Queen« lady. I liked the cover so much that I decided to recreate it. Well, in the end I did more my own version, not a complete copy of the look from the magazine. I do like it, but I’m not 100% satisfied with it, I know I could do it better (but usually when I try to do something again. I just do it worse).

First I tried to do blue eyeshadow low as she wears it on photo, but I hated it on me. It just didn't look right. I decided to lift it up. Although it looked good in person, I hate how it looks on photo. I guess we can't have it all. I didn’t do such sharp end as she wears it, but I soften it. She doesn’t wear any false lashes on photo, so I didn’t add any as well, but I have a feeling that they are missing, I think this look would be better with them. Oh, and if you're wondering why dark blue eyeshadow isn't applied the same way on both sides it's because she doesn't have it applied the same way. Eyes aren’t my favourite, but I’m very satisfied with the lips.

On both sides she wear glitter on her temples and one side I think she has countered her temple with a blue eyeshadow and a glitter, but I decided to skip that. I used L’Oreal Lumi Base, because it gives such a gorgeous white glow to the cheeks, but on one side I also added a pearly eyeshadow to give it an extra glow.

Review and Swatches: Catrice Luxury Lacquers Nail Polishes

At Cosnova event back in October I received few Catrice polishes from Luxury Lacquers collection. The difference between these and regular polishes is in the bottle, which is square, and in the brush, which is a random round brush, definitely better than the one polishes from Ultimate or Crushed Crystal collections have. There are actually two different Luxury Lacquers collections. One is called Liquid Metal and it contains 8 metallic nail polishes, and second one is called Million Brilliance and it contains 8 glittery nail polishes.

Champaign Rain (Liquid Metal) is a golden metallic nail polish with a bit thicker formula, but it’s easy to apply. It requires two coats for full opacity. When I was comparing my golden polishes I left this one out, because I forgot I have it. It’s the closest to S-he 230, just that this one has rougher surface. The removal of this one is not the easiest, but again not as difficult as by glittery polishes. By removal the shimmer can end up all around the cuticles, so I always wash my hand very good after I remove this polish.

It’s Showtime (Million Brilliance) is a silver glittery polish. It contains small round glitter and big chunky glitter. It has an ok formula, which applies nicely, although it’s quite hard to do a smooth line near the cuticles because of big glitter. This polish requires two thicker coats, but it also looks amazing layered over a silver base. Well, removal is difficult. As all glittery polishes this one is also hard to remove a regular way, so foil technique is necessary.

Plum Fiction (Million Brilliance) is a purple glittery polish. It has very similar formula and consistency to It’s Showtime, just less chunky glitter I’d say. It’s very pretty polish, but I can’t say I’m in love with it or that it has a special place in my heart collection. It’s one of those polishes that I use as a part of skittle manicures. The removal is PITA by this one as well, so I use a foil technique. This one is going to be discontinued soon, so if you really love it, now it’s your last chance to get it.

Catrice Luxury Lacquers contain 11 ml and cost 3,79 €. Liquid Metal and Million Brilliance collections offer a nice selection of colors for people who like metallic and glittery polishes. The drying time is regular, they are not super-fast drying, but also doesn’t take for ever for them to dry. On me they lasted the same amount of time as all other polishes, which is around two days. My favourite is It’s Showtime, I only wish Catrice would made a metallic silver shade as well. J

NOTD: Purple Flowers

I think I'm getting in a spring mood already. Lately I'm wearing mostly flowers on my nails. It's not like the weather isn't helping, because lately is so warm and sunny outside (it's this really a winter?). Today I want to show you a manicure I created with Born Pretty Storenail wraps that apply on nails the same way as water decals. I didn't use any base underneath, because these are opaque already themselves, but you can use it if you want. I had few problems by applying these, because they didn't want to stick immediately on the nails, so I tried to place them as nicely as possible and then I applied a top coat over them (I was doing each nail separately). These lasted two days on my nails with minimal tip wear. If you're wondering about my sloppy application on my pinkie it's because I applied them reversed. These wraps are quite long (which makes them perfect for different nail sizes) and some of them had flowers at the end. If I'd apply them as they should be applied I wouldn't get any flower on my nails and I didn't want that.

You can get a set of 5 different flower designed nail wraps, a nail file and a wooden stick at Born Pretty Store for $5.46. If you're going to use my code DFL91, you'll get a 10% discount.

What do you think of these nail wraps? Thank you for reading!
*This product was sent to me for review.

Review and Swatches: Essence Nail Polishes

Essence polishes are one of my favourite and if you’re going to sneak peek into my collection you’ll see that around a half of my collection are Essence polishes. I like Essence polishes, because they are cheap and they have amazing selection of colours. Okay, they are not very long lasting, but I personally don’t have a problem with that, because even OPI or Essie polishes, which cost 3 or 4 times more, don’t last much longer on my nails, so I rather buy a cheaper polish than one more expensive one.  Today I’m going to talk about four different polishes. I could probably do separate posts for each but I decided to post them all together.

Essence Colour&Go

Essence Juicy Red is a classic red nail polish. It has a bit runny formula, so a bit careful application is required if you don’t want to get nail polish all over your cuticles. This polish is opaque in two coats. Not the most unique colour, but very nice for people, who love reds.

Essence I Love My Blue Jeans is a dark blue nail polish. It has a label “suede” on the bottle, which marks its finish. It has a semi-matte finish, because it’s not glossy and not completely matt. Its pigmentation is amazing and because it has a thicker formula, it can be opaque in one coat, but I always prefer to use two. Because it’s thicker it’s also great for stamping (the proof you can find here). Otherwise it applies nicely; I didn’t have any problems despite its thicker formula and strange Essence brush. Right after application it looks glossy, but in few seconds it dries semi-matte. I really like its finish, but I usually never wear it alone, I always do some kind of a nail art or stamp something over.

Essence Effect Nail Polish

Essence Never Stop Dreaming is one very interesting polish. It has an orange-red shimmery base and it contains red, purple, orange hexagonal glitter. It’s very sheer, I wore three coats of it without a base and my nail line was still visible (you can see how it looks on its own here). For this swatch I applied two coats of it over Juicy Red, but I don’t really like this base for this polish. I think I should use something orangey to make it look prettier. Since this is a glittery polish, removal is not the easiest, I definitely recommend foil technique.

Essence Icy Fairy is probably the star of Essence nail polishes. Lately you could see it all around Slovenian beauty blogosphere and I decided not to share it on my blog, too, because many bloggers made great swatches. Well, since in this post I’m sharing few Essence polishes and I have two from the same collection (Effect Nail Polish) I decided to include it. Icy Fairy doesn’t have a transparent base, but a purple and blue shimmery one. It also contains a silver hexagonal glitter of different sizes. It looks nice over every single polish, but it looks the best over very dark or a black shade. I applied it over I Love My Blue Jeans here. One coat is enough to achieve this gorgeous sparkly look.

Essence Colour&Go polishes are 1,79 € (10 ml) and Effect Nail Polishes are 1,49 € (8 ml). As much as I know all of these polishes are being discontinued.  Shade Juicy Fair will be released again, but with new gel formula. I’m really excited to try new polishes (and I’m hoping on nicer brush). I definitely recommend you to get Icy Fairy and I Love My Blue Jeans, I adore both (they’d probably end in my 2014 favourites, but I didn’t swatch any on my blog, so I didn’t mentioned them).

What do you think about these polishes? Thank you for reading!

My Catrice Absolute Eye Colour Eyeshadow Collection

I rather won't mention, when I started to prepare this post. Khmm ... It's been almost a year since I uploaded photos for this post in Blogger, but then never wrote it. Some eyeshadows were discontinued meanwhile, but I decided to mention them anyway. This is more like a collection post than a proper review. Also, three of the shades I'm mentioning today (Talk Like an Egyptian, Vanilla&Charles, Shade of Grey) are leaving soon, so I thought I'd share swatches with you if you'd like to get some before they'll be completely gone.
I got them at Catrice and Essence event two years ago and before that I didn't try any, so I didn't know what to expect. Catrice mono eyeshadows are a hit or a miss - they have very different quality, some are better pigmented, some less, some eyeshadows fall out (metallic), but they do apply easy, are easy to blend, they don't crease on me and they last a whole day on my lids.

Vanilla&Charles is a vanilla shade with tiny shimmer. It's very silky, not very powdery, but it's pigmentation isn't the best. I mostly use this shade as a highlighter under my brow bone.

Ice White Open is a white matte eyeshadow, better pigmented than Vanilla&Charles, but again not enough for me to use it on the lid, when I want more exposed white. But it's a good highlighting color.

Next one is Ooops ... Nude Did It Again!, which is a beige nude shade. This is a great eyeshadow comparing to other two. Silky and soft, not powdery at all and very good pigmented. It's a perfect highlighting color for inner corner of the eye, because it's a satin shade and it really opens my eyes.

Shade of Grey is actually a taupe shade (more noticeable in person than on photos). It's has the same gorgeous formula as Ooops ... Nude Did It Again! and it's nicely pigmented.

Snoop Dovey Dove (discontinued) is a grey eyeshadow with a satin finish and good pigmentation. I actually have no idea why I took this eyeshadow, because I'm not really a fan of grey on my lids.

Jeans Dean (discontinued) is a dark blue shade with tiny shimmer. Its pigmentation is okay, but nothing amazing.

Carrots of the Caribbean (discontinued) is an orange matte eyeshadow with tiny shimmer. Its pigmentation is also okay, but nothing special. Catrice can do it better.

Don't Touch My Mosserati is a metallic green shade with an amazing pigmentation. It does fall out, but I don't mind, it's really an amazing shade. It's my second favourite of the bunch.

My First Copperware Party is my favourite of them all. Not because it should be a dupe for Mac Satin Taupe, but because it's really an amazing eyeshadow. It has an amazing pigmentation and I specially like to use it in crease, when I'm wearing quick everyday makeup. It's silky, soft, easy to blend and it doesn't fall out.

Plum Up the Jam is nicely pigmented plummy shade with golden glitter, which isn't as noticeable when is applied as it is in the packaging (especially when you remove first layer).

I Like to Mauve It is a metallic mauve shade with an amazing pigmentation. It's silky, soft, but it does fall out. It's such a nice everyday shade, I don't know why I don't use it more.

Talk Like an Egyptian, a golden metallic shade, is the worse Catrice eyeshadow I tried because of its strange formula. It's badly pigmented and hard to apply on lids, because I can't achieve an even look if I don't have any base underneath. I have no idea what's the point of doing one bad metallic shade when you do amazing job with others.

Catrice Absolute Eye Colour eyeshadows contain 2 g and they costs 2,89 €. I definitely recommend you to swatch them in the store, before you're going to buy them, because the quality isn't the same by all shades, some are great and some are a total miss. I'd definitely recommend My First Copperware Party and Don't Touch My Mosserati. I also find I Like to Mauve It and Ooops ... Nude Did It Again! very nice.

Do you own any Absolute Eye Colour eyeshadow? Whic one is your favourite? Thank you for reading!

Hello, my lovelies! Today I thought I'd share another makeup look with you. It's green. It's not a secret that I love green and I guess everything in me and on me already screams Spring, if I judge by the colors and motives I'm using lately.

I actually planned to use more different shades on upper lid, but in the end I ended with a turquoise- green combination on lids and yellow in inner corner. Under my eyes I wanted to use purple so it'll pop out more and be the star of the look, but I think it incorporated so well in this look that  in person when I wore glasses looked like I'm wearing a dark green under my eyes. I chose pink lips, because I  didn't want too bold or completely nude lips.

Review and Swatches: L'Oreal Laetitia and Blake Nail Polishes

At the moment DM is offering two L'Oreal polishes for the price of one (till 4. 2.), so I thought I'd share with you swatches of two L'Oreal polishes I bought in last few weeks. They are called Laetitia and Blake and are part of Exclusive Pure Reds collection. There also exist lipstick with the same name and are very praised, but I kind of decided not to get any (yet). I do like red lipsticks a lot, but I don’t wear them as often as they’d deserve, I more often reach for pink shades.

L’Oreal polishes have amazing formula that goes on nails smoothly, but unfortunately I find them too expensive. 5 ml cost more than 5 €, which is a lot. So sales are always welcome. These polishes have very cute packaging with a matte black lid and a golden stripe with L’Oreal name in it, which I prefer over their usual golden lid. I also like L’Oreal’s wide round on top brush, which is my favourite type. Both shades have a bit thicker formula, but they do require two coats for an even application. The drying time is average and duration time nothing special. On me they chip as fast as Essence polishes and that’s one of the reason I find them a bit pricey.

Laetitia is a vampy red shade with a subtle shimmer. It’s definitely not a typical shimmery shade, but a cream shade that contains tiny shimmer. It’s visible on nails, especially when you look closer, but not very noticeable from far.

Blake is a dark plumy cream shade. On nails it dries darker than in the bottle, which doesn’t make me very happy, because I love the color in the bottle, but I like this polish anyway. I’d say it belongs to the same family as Essie Bahama Mama just that is darker.

I like both polishes, but prefer Blake a tiny bit more. These are definitely gorgeous shades with great formula and both are more fall/winter shades, since they are dark. I’d recommend both to you, if you're a fan of these kind of shades. But that of course if you don’t find them too expensive or if you’re going to take a chance and buy them on sale at DM. Otherwise these are also available at Müller.

Have you tried L'Oreal polishes from Exclusive Pure Red collection? What do you think about these two shades? Thank you for reading!

Essence is releasing new collection of nude products a part of their regular assortment in spring 2015. At the moment you can find a preview of this collection, called I Love Nude, in Müller store. They offer few lipsticks, lipglosses, eyeshadows, nail polishes and mascara. The collection looks very interesting, I especially loved eyeshadows, but didn’t get any in the end. What I did bought are mascara Lash Princess, which will be reviewed in a comparison post with older version of Lash Princess mascara, a lipstick Cool Nude, which will get a separate post during the weekend, and a nail polish I Nude It, which I’ll present today.

I Nude It is a very bright beige nude that contains subtle shimmer, which is almost invisible on nails. I’m not the biggest of a formula, because polish applies streaky and you need to be careful to reach an even application. I’m not sure if it’s the shimmer of this shade or something, because nude polishes are usual easier to apply. What I love about this polish is the brush. It has a flat brush, which is amazing. It’s definitely better that the one from Colour&Go polishes.

I used two coats for this swatch. I like this shade, it’s not bad, but the reason I bought it is because I Nude It is going to be a great base for stamping and nail art manicures. The duration time isn’t its strongest characteristic, it chips in a day. Girl with strongest nails, on which polish lasts longer, definitely won’t be satisfied with it. I also wanted to mention that on nails it doesn’t look exactly as in the bottle, but more, idk, beige. In the bottle it looks paler, I guess. The polish contains 8 ml and I paid 1,99 € for it.

And for the proof that’ll be great base I did one stamping manicure to include it in this post. I painted all of my nails with Essence I Nude It and then I applied golden leaf foil on my pinkie, index finger and thumb. On middle and ring finger I stamped a flower design using Models Own Copacabana nail polish and plate MoYou Pro 04.

NOTD: Catrice L’Ombre A Sanssouci (Rock-o-co LE)

Catricejust released limited edition collection Rock-o-co. Although one blush and both lipsticks got my attention I decided rather not to buy them. I got only one polish from this collection, with a French sonorous name L’Ombre A Sanssouci

L’Ombre A Sanssouci is a dark grey cream nail polish with very nice formula. It’s thicker, but easy to apply. The brush is a standard round brush, but it’s not one of those that would make an application harder. One could probably get away with one thicker coat, but I always like to apply two. What surprised me after first layer is that this polish dries matte. It writes on the bottle, that this polish has a matte finish, obviously, but I didn’t read it before. Silly me. But anyway, it doesn’t matter, because none of the polishes can escape my glossy top coat.
The reason this polish got my attention isn’t as much in the shade itself as it is in the bottle. It has a cute vintage design in the front, but the most special thing on the bottle is a small white round cap. I actually expected that this cap will be hard to hold and that the application will be a bit harder, but the cap is easy to hold, so it doesn’t causes any problems by application. At least I didn’t notice any. For 10 ml I paid 2,59 €.

Review and Swatches: Deborah Milano Smokey Eye Nude Rose Palette

Deborahreleased four different Secrets of the Smokey Eye palettes. They all looked pretty, but my favourite was Nude Rose, which is a bit surprisingly if I consider that the palette is more on a pink/rose note, which isn’t really my color. First I thought I won’t buy it, because it costs around 13 €, which I find a lot 6 eyeshadows (5 g), but then I got a DM coupon with which I got the palette for a half of price, so I decided to give it a try.

Let’s talk about the packaging first. The palette comes is a plastic black packaging with a writing of the collection in a color of the palette on the top (mine is rosy). The packaging is small and sturdy, so I find it perfect for traveling. Inside of a packaging is a mirror, which is very practical. Eyeshadows follow one another in a row and come in a long rectangle lids. What I like about this palette is that they didn’t include an applicator, which I wouldn’t use anyway.

There are 6 eyeshadows in the packaging, three brighter/neutral and three darker/colorful. The finish of eyeshadows is matte or pearly.
First eyeshadow in a row is a vanilla pearly shade. Its pigmentation is okay, it’s not very pigmented, but also not very sheer. I like to use this one as a highlighter or all over my lid, when I’m doing natural eye look, because it makes my eyes look bigger.
Second shade in a row is a matte taupe shade. This one has similar pigmentation to the first eyeshadow. I find this one the best to use all over my lid to make a base for eye look or I use it as a transition color in crease.
Next one is a light brown matte eyeshadow with an okay pigmentation, but it could be better. I like to use this one in crease.

Fourth eyeshadow is a rosy pink eyeshadow that contains subtle shimmer which actually isn’t very noticeable on eyes. I like to use this one all over the lid and on lower lash line.
Next in the line is a dark plumy shade that contains tiny shimmer. I like to use this one in outer V or on lower lash line.
The darkest shade in the palette is a purple eyeshadow that also contains shimmer. This eyeshadow is great to use all over the lids if I want to do a smokey eye, to use it outer V and I also like to use it for eyeliner, when I’m doing very subtle eye look with first eyeshadow on the lid and third in crease. At the beginning all eyeshadows seemed matte, but after I removed first layer shimmer in last two because more obvious. I think I’d like both shades even better if they wouldn’t contains shimmer, but it doesn’t bother me that much.

All eyeshadows are powdery, so they dust and they do fall out. Regardless to that they last a whole working dayon my lids without creasing and with minimal fading away. I also want to mention that I wear eyeshadow base underneath, because I’m not really use to wearing eyeshadow on my lids without any base. These eyeshadows are very bleandable, maybe even too bleandable, because both rosy eyeshadows can look very similar if I blend them too much. First three eyeshadows are not as nicely pigmented as darker ones, but they can be built up with dabbing. Swatches are made without eyeshadow base underneath.

And here I have one look with this palette for you. It's a first look I made with this palette and it's pink. The funniest thing is that this look is so not me, haha. When I use this palette on a daily basis I rather use first eyeshadow all over the lid, third in crease and six in outer V or as eyeliner. I would tell you which eyeshadow I used where, but I don't remember anymore, unfortunately.

The palette costs around 13 € (5 g) and I probably wouldn’t paid a whole price for it. I mean, I do like it, it’s a nice palette, but I think you can get better palettes for less money (if you want a neutral matte palette try Catrice or Sleek). I definitely surprised myself with a purchase of this palette, because pink totally isn’t me, and not just that, even on promo photos I liked this palette the most. I guess I have enough brown, purple and blue shades in my collection.:)

Did you get any of Deborah Milano Secrets of the Smokey Eye palettes? How do you like this one? Thank you for reading!

Review and Swatches: Essence Cool Nude (I Love Nude TE)

In the trend edition collection I Love Nude Essence released five nude lipsticks. From all five I liked only two shades, but decided to get only one, Cool Nude, because it seemed the most wearable and it looked like it'll suit my skin tone well.

The packaging of the lipstick is the same to their other lipstick’s packaging, just that’s in the colour of the shade. The formula itself actually surprised me, because I didn’t expect it’ll be so good. Cool Nude is very creamy, but moisturizing lipstick. It doesn’t emphasize any dry parts on the lips and it feels so light, like I wouldn’t wear anything at all.

Cool Nudeis a pinkish brown nude shade that looks shiny on the lips. Its pigmentation is great, it covers the lips with one layer. It doesn’t last really long on the lips, but that’s normal for nude lipsticks. It does transfer on the glass when drinking and it doesn’t survive a meal. I really love how it looks on me. It suits my skin tone perfectly. I actually find this shade pretty close to my natural lip color, so it doesn't look strange on me even if I'm not wearing any makeup. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo with full face makeup to show you, how it look on me, but don’t worry, I’ll definitely use in the future with different makeup looks.
Lipstick contains 3,8 g and it costs around 2,5 €. I'm not sure about all lipstick shades of I Love Nude collection, because at least two seemed unwearable to me, but I'd definitely recommend Cool Nude if you're searching a nice nude lipstick that wouldn't dry out your lips. In February or March, it depends when new Essence products will arrive at drugstore, it'll become a part of regular assortment, so don't worry if you missed this collection, you'll still get a chance to check and purchase it. :)

EDIT: Today I had some time for makeup, so here's a photo of me wearing Cool Nude. I have pretty basic makeup on my eyes, because I'm testing a new palette. :)

Review and Swatches: Essence Hidden Stories TE

I can't say I was excited because of Essence Hidden Stories collection when I saw promo photos, but as a huge fan of shimmery products I have to admit the shimmer in a nail polish Mauve-llous Fairy and highlighter Enter Wonderland convinced me that I bought them.

Let’s talk about the nail polish first. Mauve-llous Fairy is a lila shade with pink, blue and lila shimmer. It’s really a gorgeous shade, but not very pigmented. It can be opaque after two coats if I apply thicker ones, but otherwise it requires three coats for full opacity. Otherwise the polish applies nicely, it doesn’t have too runny formula and the drying time is average. I like the brush of this polish; it’s flat, although not big, and easy to work with. The polish contains 8 ml and it costs 1,49 € (Műller).

Enter Wonderland is a product I have love-hate relationship with. If this wouldn’t be a part of limited edition collection I’d probably wait with a review for some time yet, but since it won’t be available for a very long time I’ll share with you the impression it made on me. On other blogs I mostly read positive things about highlighters from this collection, but I personally can’t say I adore this one.

Enter Wonderland is a purple cream highlighter with tiny shimmer in it. The packaging is nothing special, a transparent round plastic container that doesn’t seem very sturdy. I have to admit I expected it’ll have the same formula as highlighters from regular assortment, but it’s not exactly the same, I find it a bit less creamy. This highlighter is very sheer. It blends very nicely, but after it blends it’s almost invisible on my skin if I use one coat, so I have to apply few layers before it gives me the effect I want. I really wish it would be more pigmented. Essence recommends applying it with fingers and I do that, because I find it’s easier to apply with fingers than with brush. I also noticed that it doesn’t last long on my skin. If I apply few layers of it, then it will last a whole working day, otherwise it’ll fade away sooner. Also, when I apply few layers I love how it looks on me; it’s definitely a very special shade. For the swatches on my hand and cheeks I used three layers of product.

I have to admit I expected much more from highlighter. Usually Essence does such a great job with them that I can’t understand what went wrong here. The shade itself is gorgeous, it’s also very unique because I don’t own anything similar, but formula is just not what I’d expect it to be. I wish that this product would be more pigmented. Highlighter contains 10,7 g and it costs 3,29 €.
I’m going to say that even if I’d skip this collection I wouldn’t regret it. The polish is gorgeous, but sheer, so people, who like opaque polishes won’t be fans, and the same goes for highlighter. A beautiful shade, but very sheer, so it requires some work for a nice effect.

Did you get anything from Essence Hidden Stories TE? How do you like those products? Thank you for reading!

Guest Post by Meteo Beauty: My Top 4 Eye Cream Picks

Today were are starting with guest posts on my blog. I will host five fellow bloggers that I love to read, because they have amazing blogs. We're starting with Selma, an author of Meteo Beauty. She always blows me away with her amazing and detailed reviews. I learned a lot from her blog and it's always the greatest joy to read her posts. I hope you're going to enjoy reading her guest post as much as I did.

There's this entire dilemma regarding the use of eye creams. Some people find them utterly useless while others swear by them. Using an eye cream at an early age doesn't seem insane to me. After all, if you're in your early twenties, the only kind of concern you'd want to treat would be dehydration. Prevention is also the key. So, generally speaking, any eye cream you might be eyeing-up is most probably the basic type, the one that adds some moisture to that delicate eye area - and I hardly can see the negatives of that. I'm a huge proponent of prevention and I have this little theory I like to stick to. As the case is with the general feel and urge of thirst - you are already dehydrated when you feel thirsty. Smart thing would be to guzzle some water during breaks. A steady intake would keep your body levels of hydration up and you'd basically never feel thirsty. The same thing with fine lines - they're a way of your body telling you it's chronically thirsty. We're not touching the subject of deep wrinkles and the collagen deterioration with age - that's something I'll personally have to tackle in the future but for now, let us focus on basic eye area needs. As a soon to be twenty-eight years old woman, I've tested my fair share of eye creams and I bring you the top four I personally enjoy to use and would recommend to others without any hesitation. All four creams are different in their own ways but, ultimately, they all bring in the big guns on the hydration front.

Let us start with an eye cream which packs the most punch. Nuxe Anti-Fatigue Moisturizing Cream was, in fact, the first cream I thought of worthy my time and money. Smart and hygienic pump packaging paired with a lovely, delicate floral scent (think Nuxe multipurpose oil) surely make it a dream to use. However, the real reason why this little fella remained in my skincare stash is the ideal ratio of truly strong hydration without being oily. It feels rich and luxurious but it's not too heavy at all. It makes the under-eye area so juicy and plump, concealer glides over like a dream and skin retains its suppleness for hours. If you know that strictly dehydration is your concern, you want something that oozes water and has a certain lightness whilst doing the job - Afrodita Hydra Thermal Eye Cream Against First Wrinkles is your guy! It's the perfect basic eye cream for young people - I can picture even teens using it but I think that the main focus is on the people in their early twenties and/or early thrities. It literally sucks all the moisture back into the skin, makes it very 'moist' (God, I hate that word) and bouncy. It just feels very fresh, light, unobtrusive and delightful. It's like a tiny fountain for eyes to keep 'em awake. It even provides UV protection - perfect for no make-up days. A very light cream that I imagine must be the epitome of summertime is the L'Occitane Immortelle Brightening Eye Care & Mask Duo. I haven't found anything quite as good as this gel-like eye care duo and I reckon I'll stick to it this summer as well. It isn't runny or too plastick-y but it does feel quite gel-like in the way that it cools hot eyes and truly calms them down. The metal applicator has an ice cube effect, depuffing the eye area along the way. It's extremely helpful for puffy eyes and an absolute savior during summer as it doubles up as an eye mask. If you apply it in a thicker layer, you have a very powerful and soothing eye treatment.

My final discovery was a little something I had my eye on for months. Caudalie Vinosource SOS Morning Eye Rescue is a life saver for everyone who frequently deals with tired, hot and exhausted eyes. Too much time in front of you computer/laptop or smartphone results in tired eyes that look red and angry. This amazing little cream soothes them in a jiffy with its simple, refreshing formula. The gentle souffle texture cools down the entire area and instantly erases tiresome looks. It isn't a miracle worker, neither of these eye creams are, but it does what it says. All in all, none of these eye creams will miraculously erase fine lines, wrinkles, depuff from now on to eternity or diminish dark circles. I'm not sure if any eye creams can do so - if you come across one of those - do let me know. What I can say, though, is that my picks can ensure hydration boosts, smooth and supple skin, they're a good prep for concealers and foundation, they have a soothing/cooling effect, they're gentle and have decent ingredients. Also, each is perfect for each season - Nuxe for winter, Afrodita for autumn, L'Occitane for summer and Caudalie for spring - anyway, that's how I categorize them. Hopefully some of you might find these recommendations helpful and I just want to say huge thanks to our dear Tatjana who has invited me to do this post at her lovely blog. It's always a joy to get a slice of Taya's beauty world, she is truly one of the nicest, most positive people I have had the pleasure to get to know via our blogs + bonus is the fact that she has a terriffic blog as well. If you fancy this post and if you feel inclined, do stop by my blog Meteo Beauty so we can continue our beauty chat.

Katja is my nail queen. She's amazing with stamping and she always creates the most beautiful and interesting manicures. I probably don't need to specially point out that her amazing creations were inspiration for me to not to give up on stamping and try to learn more and get better at it (my old posts are the proof how horrible I was at stamping). I hope you're going to enjoy in her post as much as I do.

Živijo lakoholičarke!
Tatjanin blog praznuje peto obletnico delovanja.

Beauty Uk-Wild Child set: 2 coats on thumb, index finger

OPI-My Boyfriend Scales Walls: 2 coats + Konad SQ01 with Star Gazer-232 + purple rhinestone on middle, ring finger

Guest Post by AlejinaD: Favourite Winter Products

Today I'm hosting very dear and nice Slovenian blogger Danijela from AlejinaD (have you noticed that her blog name is her name backwards :D). Last year she opened this blog after hiatus and that makes me very happy, because I always love and enjoy to read her posts. She has a beauty blog, but she also writes about places she traveled to, and those are my favourite posts on her blog (maybe because I haven't traveled much and I want to, not to mention she writes about places I want to visit). I also love to read her reviews, because they are so informative, well written and truthful. Today she's sharing her favourite winter products and some of them are also on my list of favourite products. I hope you're going to love her post as much as I do.

Let me start with telling you that it's such an honor for me to write a guest post on this amazing beauty blog. I have to confess, that for the last two years I can't even imagine my morning coffee without checkin' if Tatjana wrote any new post on her blog. When she contacted me and asked if I would like to write guest post for her 5th blogiversary, of course I had to say yes. Besides the offer came just in the right time and made me overcome my blogging block, so hopefully you will enjoy reading about my winter discoveries/favorites.

First product that I discovered this winter is La Roche Posay HYDREANE Legere. Amazing moisturizing cream for sensitive skin that works great on normal and combination skin type. We all know that our skin becomes dull and dehydrated in the winter time, so the additional care is very important. This moisturizing cream keeps away dry flakes on my cheeks, it doesn't clog my pores and my T-zone don't start to shine right away as usually. What more can you wish for?
Another product that I discovered two years ago: I honestly don't know how I lived without Carmex lip balm all those years. It's just perfect product for dry, chapped lips. Generously apply it on the lips in the evening and the next morning you'll wake up with soft, nourished lips.

Let's move on to the body products. I like to pamper my skin with Nivea Nourishing body milk, that smells like all Nivea products – heavenly. It makes my skin incredibly soft and that feeling lasts quite a long time. Next product I'm going to mention is kind of a wonder product, mostly because we can use it for pampering our body, hair and face. I'm talking about Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse dry oil. It sinks into the skin within minute and leaves your skin soft, healthy glowing but without any sign of  greasiness. I noticed that it also helps to heal scars and red marks from acne, which is a great bonus. You can also use it after washing your hair for care of split ends, extra shine and amazing scent. However, I don't really use it on my fine hair because I think it weights them down. Besides, my holy grail for winter hair care is Kérastase Nectar thermique. I use it before every blow-drying or straightening my hair, because it is a heat protecting product but it also nourishes my hair, makes them smooth, soft to the touch, shiny and keeps the frizz away.

And finally the last two products I've been using this winter a lot: Heat Rush EDT and Essie Sexy divide.
In my opinion Beyonce Heat Rush EDT is perfect fruity fragrance for winter time. It has just the right amount of fruit sweetness, so it can be considered as a winter perfume, although the tropical notes call for the summer time. The main note that I smell all the time is mostly delicious mix of passion fruit and mango blossom. It's not overpowering fragrance, the sillage is moderate and it has a lasting power of 3+ hours on me.
My all time favorite Essie nail polish is Sexy divide, which also happens to be the perfect shade for winter time. It is super long-lasting and its color never cease to amaze me.

Feel free to share with us your winter favorites! ;)
